Importing eMac from USA

Hello,

I was looking to buy eMac G4 @799 USD during my visit to NY next month. The trouble being importing the Mac back to Europe...

Can someone share the experience with the customs in the EU? If I am travelling say to Belgium but first land in France - where do I have to declare the goods?

If you only land in France with a connecting flight to Belgium, you won't pass the Customs in France (You'll stay in the international zone of the french airport). So it's in Belgium that you will have to declare your eMac.

The tax may be so high that you'd better buy it here in Europe...
I don't know what about the warantee and the keyboard...

Otherwise, i dind't do it but i would for the ipod mini...

Hm ..., I think the connecting flight is actually a train to Brussels - so I will have to go through the customs. Otherwise indeed difference between USD 699 and EUR 849 as advertised on apple.fr isn't such a big one ... + customs

Becareful, I've just taken a look at Apple US. The first price of the eMac is $799, and it DOES NOT include tax. So, depending on where you intend to buy it, you will have to add the local tax, unless you'll buy it in a Duty free...

Also, don't forget the weight of the eMac. It will cost you even more if your lugage is overweight..

install the system and take it with you straight
it will look like used

plus the fact that if custom is catching you , you can say bye bye to your connection flight

one question, how did you choose macgeneration rather than others ?
