Mixed ink support
Cost-effectively broaden the range of colors available in print jobs involving two or more inks: for example,
combine two inkssuch as a spot color and a varnish, or a spot color and a process colorto create a
palette of colors for the design without increasing your budget. To do this, first create a spot color in the
Swatches palette. Then choose New Mixed Ink Swatch from the Swatches palette menu and enter the settings
you want. Alternatively, you can create a mixed ink group to quickly make a large range of colors
available for use. Select New Mixed Ink Group from the Swatches palette menu, and enter values for
InDesign CS to use to automatically generate the palette of colors. In a mixed ink group, the base swatches
are parents to all of the related swatches. If you edit a base swatch, InDesign CS automatically updates the
related swatches and any objects that have the swatches applied.
