Mail ne veut plus s'ouvrir

Bonjour,

J'utilise mail version 4.6 sur mon MBP de 2007 qui tourne sous SL à jour.
J'utilise mail pour le boulot et en perso : il est donc "relié" à une boite pro en IMAP ainsi qu'à des boite perso en pop.

Depuis hier soir, mail ne veut plus s'ouvrir : il plante.

Sur une session test, il fonctionne correctement.

J'ai essayé de virer "com.apple.mail.plist" mais cela ne résoud pas le problème.

Par contre j'ai un clone de mon DD qui date de dimanche. Je peux donc si cela est nécessaire remonter ce clone ou seulement l'application mail si cela est possible ?

avec une simple recherche sur la cause
"[NSCFString substringFromIndex:]: Range or index out of bounds"

on tombe sur pas mal de fils similaires sur le forum Apple
ca semble particulier à SL
avec des causes variables ( et soluces variables)
pour certains c'etait ical , pour d'autres imap en exchange
certains ont solutionné en supprimant-recréant le compte email dans Mail
( gaffe faire ca APRES verif de sauvegarde externe, car suppression de compte email =>suppression des messages)

Il me semble que dans mon cas cela pourrait être un problème avec Ical…
Supprimer le compte email ? Tu veux dire supprimer les différents comptes (donc les différentes boites) que j'ai dans mail ?
Si c'est le cas, je peux sauvegarder mes messages puis les réinjecter après ? Si oui, quels sont les dossiers à sauvegarder ? Et dedans ne risque-t-on pas de retrouver ce qui a mis le bazard ?

Tu n'es pas un nioubie
donc tu sais
*qu'on fait des sauvegardes externes régulierement ( et time machine fait ca en permanence)

qu'on répare en
*s'assurant,AVANT de commencer, que la sauvegarde a les archives à jour
*en cherchant les sujets existants sur tel ou tel aspect

et sur" comment remettre Mail au propre " en a des dizaines, et ca peut etre inutile si ...c'est ical le coupable, ce qui est probable voire quasi certain puisqu'on lit dans le rapport de crash des trucs de ce genre

J'ai effectivement les sauvegardes de mon activité professionnelle sur un serveur au boulot et je possède un clone chez moi. Seul bémol, mon clone date du mois de juillet…
Mais bon pas trop grave puisque le plus important est au boulot.
J'ai donc réinstallé mon clone sur ma machine. en effet, une simple réinstallation de l'appli mail n'a pas fonctionné.
Donc voilà c'est reparti grâce au clone.
