Getting started
Macam consists of two parts that can be used independently: A standalone application ("macam") and a QuickTime driver component that allows you to use your webcam with other applications ("macam.component"). Starting the application is simple: Double-click the application icon. To install the component copy "macam.component" to the "/Library/QuickTime/" folder. The application and component are independent and do not need each other to be installed.
These are recommended steps:
(1) Plug the camera into a USB port directly on the computer; if this works then go ahead and try a hub if you want
(2) Run the macam application to make sure that your camera, computer, and USB connection are all working properly and together.
(3) Copy the "macam.component" to the "/Library/QuickTime/" folder
(4) Use a simple video viewer to verify that the component is installed correctly (HackTVCarbon, BTV, VideoViewer, etc)
Important: This text is not a complete usage guide. To see more detailled and complete information on installation, uninstallation and usage, select "macam Help" from the "Help" menu from within the application.
Donc, pour résumer:
. ouvrir le dmg récupéré sur leur site
. Copier l'appplication macam dans le dossier Applications
. Copier macam.component dans le dossier Bibliothèque/QuickTime
. Brancher la webcam directement sur un port USB de la machine (pas sur un hub)
. Lancer l'application macam pour voir si ça fonctionne
. Utiliser une application video (telle que HackTVCarbon, BTV, VideoViewer, etc) pour vérifier la bonne installation de macam.component
