Softimage sur OS X?

voici ce que l'on peu trouver sur le site d'architecture "Architosh" :

Rumor: Softimage developing for Mac OS X?

In the light of our request for interest in a petition for RenderMan for Mac OS X, a reader wrote in with a lead on undisclosed news of a Macintosh port of Softimage.

Is there a Mac Team Forming?

According to a reader who asked not to be mentioned, a discussion of Softimage for the Mac took place between a visitor to a Softimage booth not long ago. Apparently the interest in the Mac was there and that they were indeed watching the Mac 3D market. All of this in the light of Alias/Wavefront's move to port Maya to Mac OS X.

The person at the booth used the term "team" to refer to a Mac team perhaps investigating the possibility of a port to Mac OS X. The reader remarked:


"I was fully expecting them to just kind of laugh snidely at the thought, (the response I've gotten from them in the past), but they have a mac TEAM (although it might be a one man team for all I know). Their attitude has made a complete turn-around, at the very least."


We will continue to investigate this info.

si c'est vrai ce serai génial, l'industrie pro de la 3d ne serait plus seulement réservée aux stations ou aux PCs.

Ou si il existe des logiciels equivalents pour réaliser des animations complexes et très réalistes en 3D. (Combustion ?)

Peut être faudrait il déplacer ce sujet dans arts graphiques ou dans 3D

Softimage ne marche pas sous OS X pour l'instant.
Cependant, il existe quelques concurrents : Lightwave, Maya, Cinema 4D, Blender (gratuit).

Hélas non, Je fait de la 3D depuis plusieurs années, je penses qu' il n'y a pas vraiment d' équivalent à XSI en terme de productivité de simplicité et de confort dans l'interface, c'est vrai que j'aimerais beaucoup voir ce soft porté sur Mac pour abandonner ma station PC. il y a Maya mais bon... Sans vouloir entamer une polémique Alias est encore loin derrière Avid même si Maya est plus plébiscité (effet d'un Très bon marketing?)...Autrement si je devais choisir une solution Sur Mac je lorgnerais plutôt du coté de C4D. Enfin c'est mon avis...
