« Macintosh OS Users!
As of July 7, 2024 the Gutenprint project has formally deprecated MacOS support.
This means that no further MacOS-compatible binaries will be produced.
Gutenprint has not had an active MacOS maintainer for over three years, and the remaining developers lack the technical ability to produce MacOS binaries, much less undertake the
substantial amount of work necessary to produce, test, and support binaries on newer (post-Mojave/10.14) MacOS releases. »
D’ailleurs, dans le readme de la 5.3.4 pre2 :
Gutenprint will run on any reasonably modern computer running Linux,
Macintosh OS X (10.6 through currently 10.14), Solaris, or any other
UNIX-like operating system. If you plan to compile this package from
source, you will also need an ANSI C compiler, such as gcc
(recommended). A compiler is not required if you are installing a
pre-compiled package.
D’une manière générale, Gutenprint est très bien pour les Canon et Epson mais le support HP y est plus restreint, surtout avec la branche 5.3.
