VueScan helps you get the most out of your scanner, and is used by photographers, home users, scanning services and corporations.
VueScan makes your existing scanner work as well as most new scanners, is quick and easy to use, and you can keep using it if you buy a new scanner.
VueScan supports more than 400 scanners and 157 digital camera raw files. VueScan 8.2.08 was released on April 20, 2005, and you can read about what's new in this version.
VueScan changes nothing on your system, installs nothing in your operating system and all other scanner software will continue to function. You can purchase VueScan at any time and instantly get a serial number that disables image watermarking.
To upgrade VueScan, just install this trial version and enter your serial number to enable the Edition you've purchased.
Use the About menu command in VueScan to display what Edition you have and whether you qualify for a free upgrade. You don't need to uninstall the old version before installing this new version - the old version will be overwritten.
You can also download VueScan for Linux (8.2.08) or Mac OS 9 (7.6.64).
You can improve your Optical Character Recognition (OCR) results if you download a dictionary containing common US English, French, Dutch and UK English words. Put this file (vuedict.dat) in the same directory as the VueScan program. You can choose the language using the "Output|OCR text language" option.
